When and where do you meet?
We meet in Brighton, MI, not far from the Legacy Center. Our hybrid students come either Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays for 15 weeks each semester. Our elective-only students meet either on Mondays or Tuesdays for 14 weeks. We also offer off-site elective classes by partnering with various businesses in our area. We currently partner with Legacy Center, Infinity Gymnastics, Ohana Karate, Brighton Stables, 2/42’s School of the Arts, and Huntmore Golf Course.
Are you secular or religious?
The group is non-religious. However, we do rent space at a church in Brighton.
What are the age groupings for the classes being offered?
We currently serve students in grades DK - 10. Students are generally placed in their grade based on their age. However, we try to work with families to determine the appropriate social, emotional, and academic fit for their child. Grade level groupings will be used for Science, Social Studies and Electives. Approximate grade levels will be K-2, 3-6, and 7-10.
Do you plan to offer high school classes?
We are expanding into 10th grade for the 2023-2024 school year and plan to continue adding one grade level per year until we are K-12.
What electives will be offered?
Electives classes will be determined based on student requests and teacher availability. Some of the classes we offer are Music, Art, Spanish, Karate, Horseback Riding, Robotics, Speech and Debate, Acting, and Technology classes. Elective lists are updated each semester. Are the teachers certified?
Paideia employs instructors based on multiple criteria. We have a variety of current and previously certified teachers, seasonsed homeschool moms, and highly qualified individuals, all of whom are experts in their fields.
